Type 1 Diabetes

Insulin is NOT a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. It helps but there are still so many problems ranging from low blood sugars to high blood sugars even when taking insulin as directed. Yes my child can do anything with all of the proper precautions but she still must take shots and check her blood sugars several times a day. She was diagnosed at 5, she is now 6, it has been 6 months since life as this family knew it changed dramatically. Why can't they find a reason it happened? Why can't they find a cure? Could it be that the drug companies do not want to loose the billion dollar industry if a cure is found? My child has a chronic condition that she did NOTHING to bring upon herself. She will have it all her life unless a cure is found. I am so angry I want to scream!!!! Our government spends billions of dollars on STUPID things, including giving away money to companies that can not take care of business!!! Let's take care of our children!!!!
